Success for Devonport High School for Girls A Level Students
A Level students at Devonport High School for Girls are celebrating fantastic results this year. 67% of all grades achieved were A*, A, or B. It was impressive to see 21 students awarded A/A* grades across the board.
The school continues its high-achieving record of top university places and courses, with 4 attending Oxford and Cambridge universities, in addition to 30% of our students going on to Russell Group Universities.
Assistant Head Teacher and Head of Sixth Form Ed Lamb said ‘it's been another fantastic year for our amazing students. Their achievements should be lauded all the more this year as they were unable to sit GCSEs due to the Covid pandemic, and as such have had to learn fast about examination technique and the mental and emotional approaches to an exam season. We are extremely proud of all of them, and as ever, they have gone on to take their places at world-class universities, leading apprenticeships and gainful employment. We couldn't be more proud.’
Head Teacher Lee Sargeant said ‘many congratulations to students this year on their excellent results. I know they have worked tremendously hard over the past two years and deserve their successes today. My thanks go to our teachers who have supported them through their studies. I am extremely proud of our DHSG’s students and wish them all the very best in their next chapter and future lives.’
